clean ur disks
you need a bigger hard drive or need to clean out the hard drive. For one the pc needs memory to run the operating system as well as space for updates. Two, you shouldn’t be installing programs or games on your external drive, this is why it is running so slow.

Empty Trash Can

Find the Recycle Bin icon on the desktop.
Right-click (or press and hold) and select Empty Recycle Bin

Delete all the internet temporary files

1.In Internet Browser from the Tools menu selects Internet Options. On the General Tab under Browsing History, click the Delete Button. That gives you the option to delete Temporary Internet Files, Browsing History, etc.
2.Open up the Internet Explorer browser in the manner that you usually do.
You can double click on the Internet Explorer icon that Microsoft adds to your Desktop.
Then you click on the word Tools, which is contained in your top toolbar area.
This will pull down a menu for you to now click on Internet Options.
In the center of the screen, click on the button entitled Delete Files.
Windows will ask if you want to Delete all files in the Temporary Internet Files folder.
You can place a check mark next to Delete all offline content to remove locally stored content.
When you are satisfied with your selection, click on the OK button to delete these Temp files.
This action will free up a decent amount of the Temporary Internet files on your system.
Now click on the newly added button entitled Delete Cookies.
Windows will ask if you want to Delete all cookies in the Temporary Internet Files folder.

Anyway the cookies are in the internet temporal folder directory, in my case is in

Caches cookies

C:\Documents and Settings\User\Cookies\
And the computer has one of these folders for any user. Anyway, you can delete all the cookies if you apply secondary click over the logo of internet explorer in the desktop and open the properties panel, then delete cookies in the menu “General”, then apply click in delete temporal files and erase the cookies.
Or you can enter the directory select all and just press delete.

Defragment
Defragment is automatic. You can change the schedule via right-clicking on the drive and going to the “tools” tab.
To delete temp files, go to Control Panel / Administrative Tool and find “Disk Cleanup” This will show you a list of various temp files that can be deleted, and let you get rid of them.

Fix the reg files
To resolve this issue, you can reset the registry settings to their default settings. To do this, follow these steps.
Click the Start button and type Regedit in the Search box
Right-click Regedit.exe in the returned list and click Run as administrator
Browse to the following registry key:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT.exe
With .exe selected, right-click (Default) and click Modify…
Change the Value data: to exefile
Browse to and then click on the following registry key:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile
With exe file selected, right-click (Default) and click Modify…
Change the Value data: to “%1” %*
Browse to and then click on the following registry key:

KEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\shell\open
With open selected, right-click (Default) and click Modify…
Change the Value data: to “%1” %*
Close the Registry Editor and restart your PC

Delete the update files

First, you need to go to Control Panel >Add Remove Program>checked the Show Updates box, you will see all the Windows updates and just click on the updates you wish to remove then click Remove.

Close whatever program You are not using

The information about usage in Control Panel>Programs & Features is not always accurate. Surely you know which programs you use. For the ones that you are unsure of, Google their names to find out what each program does.

Reboot
Click On CPU Restart Button
Click ALT+F4 button then you see shut down window.

Now click Restart Then OK. Your pc automatically off & Start.

Background programs:
Background applications usually load during windows start-up. Now you can remove them by editing your msconfig file. In a Windows XP OS. Do the following

  1. Click “Start” > Run > Type “msconfig” then press enter
  2. Go to the Start-up tab. Here there will list of programs that load during Windows start-up and run as a background process. Check / Uncheck them as desired. Click “Apply”
  3. During your next start-up, programs that you unchecked will not be loaded.

Free hard drive space:
You can however get rid of a lot of temporary files that if they have not been cleared out for a long time will have built up. Particularly temporary internet files. Also look at the recycle bin and empty it.
You can run the disk clean up wizard to do this.
Better still follow this link and download Ccleaner and install it.
Once installed run the program, it will open at its default interface.
First look down the list to “Advanced” put a check mark in the box “Old Prefetch Data” but no other.
Now click the button “Analyse” when it stops click “Run Cleaner”. All the junk and temp files will be removed.

I would start by removing temporary files, you can use CCleaner which is a great utility for this.If that does not work you can try compressing old files.Right-click on your hard drive (C: Drive) and select properties

Click on the Disk Cleanup buttonCheck the box for an option that says something like Compress old files

Click OK

Bad, corrupted, or fragmented hard drive:

If your computer has not been rebooted recently, make sure to reboot it before following any of the steps below.

  • Background programs
  • Delete temp files
  • Free hard drive space
  • Bad, corrupted or fragmented hard drive
  • Scan for malware
  • Scan for viruses
  • Hardware conflicts
  • Update Windows
  • Update your drivers
  • Reboot computer again
  • Memory upgrade
  • Hard drive upgrade
  • Run Registry cleaner
  • Computer or processor is overheating

Scan for the virus:
Specifically for virus scans, you use special software called an anti-virus. This software will help to rid your computer of viruses (software programs that can replicate themselves and through human interaction, can spread from system to system).

  1. Go to bitdefender.com (Check the full link below) and click “buy now” for the Anti-virus Version of the software
  2. Go through the subsequent pages to purchase the product (it’s an electronic download) .
  3. After you download and install the software the same process applies as if the software were free.
If you felt that your system has been highly corrupted or your system won’t allow installation.

Update your drivers:
1.You must visit the laptop’s official website. You need to search for drivers for the model of the laptop you have got and then check the latest version of drivers with the drivers that have already been installed on your laptop. If the drivers on the site are new then download & install them on your laptop.

2.The easiest way is to keep update your OS system and check the updates manually, you can choose to download the drivers for your laptop from there.
When a device is not working you need to find the driver for that device.
There are two ways to find the update.
First is to go to the computer makers site and downloading their driver (Dell, HP, Asus, etc)
The second is to go to the device makers site. For video nVidia, or ATI, for networking Intel, etc)

For example, if you need to update your video driver for an Nvidia video card and have an HP computer you could go to HP or nVidia.
HP would have the most compatible, while Nvidia would have the most current, so it is a trade-off between compatibility and newest features.
Computer makers will often stop developing drivers for new operating systems but the video card maker usually will not.
Sometimes you will need to completely reinstall the software package to replace the driver. This occurs in things like malware applications, third-party apps, etc.

Memory upgrade:
If you have had your computer for more than two years, you may need more memory. Today, we suggest computers have a minimum of 2 GB of memory (RAM) for a 32-bit system and 4 GB for a 64-bit system. By having enough memory for programs to run within memory, your computer doesn’t need to swap information stored in memory to the swap file. If the hard drive light is continuously active, it’s an indication the computer is frequently swapping information between your memory and hard drive.

in a desktop computer the RAM connects directly to the motherboard via RAM slots, your computer has two RAM slots both capable of accepting a maximum of 1GB in each slot at a maximum speed of DDR PC2700 (333Mhz equivalent) or DDR PC3200 (400Mhz equivalent) obviously bigger speed = better performance
in order to upgrade to 1.5GB you will need extra memory, depending on the configuration at the time your computer was made it will either have 1x512MB RAM module with one extra bank spare in which case you just need an extra 1GB memory module or you will have 2x256MB modules in which case you will need to buy both 1x512MB and 1x1GB memory modules

The computer or processor is overheating:
Your system may be overheating due to dust or debris that weigh down the cooling fan. Kindly check if there are any blockages to the exhaust vent of your computer as this may heavily affect the cooling fan performance.

Since the high CPU usage is not observed in Safe Mode, it shows us that the problem is not caused by the default drivers and basic settings of Windows. With that note, there might be drivers in your system that require to be updated. We suggest that you check if there are driver updates that are available for your computer. Here’s how to check for driver updates through Windows Update:

Select the Start button, then select Settings > Update & security > Windows Update.
Select Check for updates.
If there are updates waiting to be installed, kindly install them.
After installing the updates, restart your computer and see if the high CPU usage is still exhibited.
If after installing the update, or if there are no updates, there might be unwanted malicious software that could have affected your system. Often times, this malicious software could cause your PC to perform unusually and could put a lot of stress on your system. Kindly check for unwanted malicious software through your preferred antivirus program if there are any signs of infection on your computer.

If you find that there are no signs of infection, it is possible that there are corrupted Windows system files. The Deployment Image Service and Management tool (DISM) is a utility in Windows that scans for corrupted Windows system files. If it finds a problem, it would replace the problematic system files from a cached version that’s on your PC. Here’s how to run the DISM utility:

Press the Start button, then type command prompt, then right-click Command Prompt, and select Run as administrator. If you are prompted to enter a password or confirmation, enter the password or provide confirmation.
At the command prompt, type the following command and press Enter:
dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
Kindly take note of the spaces between the command.
If DISM finds corrupted files and replaces them, restart your PC and see if that improves the system.
Note: You must be connected to the Internet to use DISM, and it might take several minutes to finish.

If DISM can’t replace the files, the System File Checker (SFC) tool could check your system for corrupted files then download and replace the files through Windows Update. Here’s how to run the System File Checker tool:

Press the Start button, then type command prompt, then right-click Command Prompt, and select Run as administrator. If you are prompted to enter a password or confirmation, enter the password or provide confirmation.
At the command prompt, type the following command and press Enter:
sfc /scan now
Kindly take note of the space between.
Note: Scanning would take a few minutes.
If SFC finds corrupted files and replaces them, restart your PC and see if the problems persist.

Use Genuine Windows:
If you are referring to the windows product license. Please see the click here

Update the operating system windows 10 or 7:
To upgrade from Windows 10 Home to Windows 10 / 7 Pro and activate your device, you’ll need a valid product key or a digital license for Windows 10 / 7 Pro.

If you don’t have a product key or a digital license, you can buy Windows 10 Pro from Microsoft Store. Select the Start button, select Settings > Update & Security > Activation, and then select Go to Microsoft Store. From here, you can also see how much this upgrade will cost.
